In order to get the best answer to fix the problem, a person has to know how the problem was created or why it's occurring. I didn't see any criticism anywhere, but just wanting to get a picture of what is occurring. Both folks gave you excellent advice...

I think, its supposed to be a win-win situation.
So, if the dog refuses to come close enough why does he come at all...?
I believe you're almost there and I would try a little bargaining with a few pieces of mild cheese in my pocket... ;-)
